Armistice Centenary graphic device

Recognising the significance of the Armistice Centenary this Remembrance Day, the Armistice Communications Working Group has developed a graphic device that can be used to promote commemorative activities on or around 11 November 2018.

Armistice 1918–2018 Australia Remembers

Local councils, ex-service organisations, and veteran support organisations are welcome to use this graphic device for non-commercial and non-profit purposes that acknowledge and commemorate Remembrance Day and the Centenary of the First World War Armistice.

Non-commercial, not-for-profit and commercial organisations may also be permitted to use the graphic device, under certain conditions.

The device and guidelines

The Armistice Centenary graphic device features a red poppy, the words Armistice 1918–2018 and the subline text of Australia Remembers or an approved variation, such as Queensland Remembers.

The device is also available in a variety of styles, colours and file formats to suit most online and offline applications.

Use of the graphic device is governed by strict branding guidelines. Download the Centenary of the First World War Armistice device guidelines (PDF, 330KB) to find out more.

Local councils

Local councils are permitted to use the device to acknowledge the Centenary of the First World War Armistice, and may customise the subline text to directly reference their region. Further customisation will not be permitted. Local councils in Queensland who do not wish to customise should use the variation with the Queensland Remembers subline text.

Ex-service organisations and veteran support organisations

Ex-service organisations (ESOs), including RSL Sub-Branches, and veteran support organisations (VSOs) are permitted to use the device to acknowledge the Centenary of the First World War Armistice.

In Queensland, these groups may use the device with either Australia Remembers or Queensland Remembers subline text, in a co-branding arrangement.

Non-commercial and not-for-profit organisations

In Queensland, non-commercial and not-for-profit organisations may be permitted to use the device. These organisations should contact the Department of the Premier and Cabinet via anzac100@premiers.qld.gov.au or 07 3003 9170 to discuss.

Commercial organisations

Commercial organisations may be permitted to use the device to acknowledge and commemorate Remembrance Day and the Centenary of the First World War Armistice. These organisations should contact the Commonwealth Department of Veterans’ Affairs to discuss. Contact details and application guidelines are found within the device guidelines (PDF, 330KB).

The Armistice Communications Working Group

The Armistice Communications Working Group includes federal, state and territory government communication managers and representatives of the Australian Defence Force and the Australian War Memorial.

In addition to ensuring a coordinated approach to local and national Armistice Centenary commemorations, this working group has also developed this graphic device to help create a unified visual symbol for these various commemorations.

The Western Australian Department of Communities developed the graphic device, which was agreed by the working group and endorsed by the Australian Minister for Veterans’ Affairs.
